Carson is from Glendora, California. He is a huge sports fan and spends most of his free time watching, playing, or even debating about sports. Coming into college Carson initially thought marketing was where he would flourish until he took accounting. Through the GEMS program, Carson was able to find a career path where he believes his passion and skills can merge. His mentor, Darline Llamas Llopis, as the VP of Finance and Retail for the Miami Dolphins introduced Carson to a whole new realm of careers. In addition to mentoring with future goals, the GEMS mentoring also helped me land an internship with Goldman Sachs. Alongside GEMS Carson play on the Club Water Polo Team and sit as VP of the club. As Carson shared “The Trojan Family is what makes this program worthwhile, meeting industry professionals who help provide insight to their life after graduation, answering questions we can’t learn in the classroom.”
