Megan Chao is a factual entertainment executive with nearly 15 years of experience specializing in documentaries for broadcasters and streamers, and innovative multiplatform content. A biologist turned journalist, she has a successful track record of shepherding television projects from creation through show delivery.

Chao is a national active member of the Television Academy in the documentary peer group, is on the executive committee, and serves on various Primetime Emmys committees. She is also a member of the International Documentary Association (IDA) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Chao is on the faculty at USC Annenberg, and is adviser for the student–produced documentary series, Impact, which broadcasts on Spectrum News 1. She serves as vice chair of the curriculum committee for the USC Asian Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association (APIFSA). And she dedicates her life and career to mentoring the next generation of budding entertainment industry professionals.
