Meet the 2023 Gems

Thamir Kazwini was born in Amman, Jordan and raised in La Mirada, CA. He is a rising senior pursuing a B.S. in Accounting. Thamir is interested in exploring industries such as Technology, Healthcare, and Real Estate. He hopes to utilize the skills gained through his degree in accounting to contribute to the accounting profession by integrating technology and analytics into his roles, while providing his teammates and organizations the support they need to succeed. On campus, Thamir is a board member at USC ALPFA, a Senior Industry Influencer for Cal CPA, a TA for the Leventhal School of Accounting, and a mentor for the Leventhal Transfer Program. Thamir enjoys grilling steaks, going for walks, listening to comedy podcasts, and recreational reading on his free time.

Thamir shares, “I’m very grateful to be a part of GEMS. I look forward to bonding more with my cohort and professor Paranal, and to growing with them along our journey. Through GEMS, I hope to gain the insight and confidence to achieve the professional goals that I have set for myself.”
